How to Become a Big Sister

You can become a Big Sister by following these five simple steps!

1. Learn what it means to become a Big Sister
   Complete our online orientation or call 617.236.8060 to speak to a Big Sister staff member.
2. Apply
   Fill out an application.  Once your application has been submitted, a Big Sister staff member will contact you within 48 hours* to schedule an interview.
   
3. Interview
   Meet with a Big Sister social worker.  This is our chance to get to know you so that we can make the best match possible between you and your future Little Sister.
   
4. Attend Training
   Big Sister is proud to offer training to anyone who volunteers in our programs.  It will give you the tools to become a great Big Sister.
   
5. Get Matched!
   Your last step in becoming a Big Sister is to get matched with your Little Sister.  We take what we know about you, compare it with what we know about your prospective Little Sister, and make a match based on shared interests, experiences and expectations.

*For applications received on a Friday or over the weekend, we will contact you within 48 hours from the following Monday.
