Big Sister Association of Greater Boston proudly offers our services to any girl* who resides in our service area. We accept referrals from parents, grandparents, teachers, guidance counselors, other family members and service providers. Enrollment in our programs requires approval of a girl's parent(s) or legal guardian. To refer a girl to our program, simply: ApplyCall 617.236.8060 or click here to make your referral or download the child application. Interview Once the application is received, a Big Sister social worker will contact you within 48 hours** to answer any questions and to set up a time for a home visit. At the home visit, the social worker will meet with the parent/guardian and the potential Little Sister to learn about her. This will allow our social workers to specifically choose a Big Sister who is a “good fit” for her personality, interests and needs. Match Once a Big Sister has been selected as a potential match for the Little Sister, the parent/guardian will be told about the Big Sister to make a final decision about the match. The initial match meeting will take place in the family’s home. After the initial home visit, the match can embark on their newfound friendship. * Big Sister Association of Greater Boston only offers services to girls in our service area. To refer a boy in this service area, please contact Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay or Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters. ** For referrals received on a Friday or over the weekend, Big Sister will contact you within 48 hours from the following Monday. |
